The goal of this committee is to foster a professional environment where individuals' rights and responsibilities are protected, respected, and upheld. Our committee envisions a future where all teachers are treated equitably, given fair opportunities contractually, and know their rights. Through collaboration, advocacy, and discussions, we aim to empower teachers to fulfill their responsibilities while safeguarding their rights, ultimately leading to a harmonious and thriving professional teaching community.

Every summer, the Professional Rights and Responsibilities Committee holds a meeting during the UTLA Leadership Conference. It is held for one hour usually on the Saturday during the conference.

Jacinda Montgomery Gammage 1976-2023
It is with deep regret that i have to share that one of our PRR members Jacinda Gamage Montgomery has passed away on December 13. She has attended several of our meetings in the past. She worked as a RJ Teacher at Bret Hart Middle School. Services were held on Dec 21, 2023.
